Agganis Arena Undergoes Video Upgrades for 2018-19

September 26, 2018

BOSTON – When Boston University hockey fans visit Agganis Arena this upcoming season, they will notice improvements and enhancements to the video components in the rink.

The backlit signage at the top of the center-ice videoboard was replaced with a 10mm LED ring while the video ribbon along the east and west ends of the building has been replaced and enlarged with a resolution improvement from 22mm to 10mm. The height of each 200-foot ribbon has been increased 10 inches to three feet.

These projects, which were completed earlier this month, will increase content capabilities for the arena's video production, allowing for an improved fan experience.

First-year head coach Albie O'Connell and the Terriers have begun preseason practice and have gotten a first look at the new additions to the arena.

"The team couldn't be more excited for the season to get underway and we're thrilled with the new look in Agganis," said O'Connell. "We can't wait to get back on the ice in front of our incredible fans."

"Thanks to the great support of our loyal fanbase, we have reinvested in Agganis Arena to upgrade the game experience for everyone in the building on game nights," said BU director of athletics Drew Marrochello. "We look forward to kicking off a new era of BU hockey with these video enhancements."

Season tickets and half-season packages for the 2018-19 campaign are available here at AgganisArena.com or by calling 617-353-GOBU (4628) or visiting the Agganis Arena Ticket Office at 925 Commonwealth Ave. (Mon.-Fri., 10am-5pm).
