BOSTON – The Boston University Department of Athletics and Mount Auburn Club in Watertown have reached an agreement for the MAC to serve as the home indoor facility for the men's and women's tennis programs.
Located two-and-a-half miles from campus, the MAC will house all indoor practices and all home matches for the Terriers. It features 11 indoor courts and continues to host several leagues, including the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and Women's Suburban Tennis League (WSTL).
"The Mount Auburn Club will be a great training and match facility for our teams," said director of tennis and women's tennis head coach
Lesley Sheehan. "The surface is ITA approved and will give us a chance to host Patriot League matches and regional matches at home. The Mount Auburn staff is welcoming and will provide our student-athletes with a great experience."
"We have been using the club as a practice site the last two years, and the guys have loved the hardcourt surface there," said men's tennis head coach
Dejan Stankovic. "We are excited to be able to use it now for home matches and can't wait to get started."
The BU women will host their first match at the MAC on Sunday, Jan. 19 against Binghamton, and the men will host St. John's on Saturday, Feb. 15.
