Terriers, Greyhounds Battle to 0-0 Double OT Draw

BOSTON – The Boston University women's soccer team posted its sixth shutout of the season, earning a 0-0 double overtime draw against Loyola Saturday afternoon at Nickerson Field as part of the second annual Soc'toberFest.
BU's backline held firm over 110 minutes of action, limiting the Greyhounds to just nine shots, while Morgan Messner posted her third shutout of the season in between the pipes.

- BU controlled possession as Anna Heilferty set the tempo by striking the first shot on goal just two minutes into play.
- Chloee Sagmoe followed with another rip on frame at the 10-minute mark.
- Kelly Harris and Ashley Buck each flicked shots in the 18th and 24th minute, though Harris's was blocked and Buck's just missed wide.
- The Terriers held a 7-4 advantage in shots through the first 45 minute as the game remained scoreless at the half.
- With 10 minutes left in regulation, Lily Perryman served a free kick from the left wing towards the box, where Geovanna Pereira elevated and directed the ball toward the upper 90, but Loyola's keeper preserved the stalemate.
- Kate Collins nearly delivered the game-winner with two minutes left in regulation, dispatching a laser from 25 yards away that sailed wide right.
- Collins had a similar look in the first frame of overtime, as each team produced one shot over the 20 minutes of overtime.
- Saturday marked the fourth overtime game for the Terriers this season.
- The Terriers 1-1-2 those games, while each overtime contest had gone into double overtime.
- BU has not allowed a goal on Nickerson Field in 311 minutes of game play.
