March 20, 2019

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Junior co-captain Dante Fabbro was named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star and freshman Joel Farabee earned a spot on the conference All-Rookie Team, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

In a year highlighted by several standout defensemen across the country, Fabbro is the only Division I player who has over 30 points and over 70 blocked shots this season. His 79 blocks lead all Hockey East players and he ranks second on the Terriers in points with 33 on the strength of a team-best 26 assists. This is the second consecutive season that Fabbro has been named a Hockey East Second Team All-Star.

Farabee continues an impressive streak for the Terriers, who have had at least one All-Rookie Team honoree in each of the past 12 seasons. BU's all-time total of 46 All-Rookie Team selections is nine more than any other school.

BU's leader in points (36) and goals (17), Farabee has turned in an impressive freshman season to help the Terriers reach the league semifinals. He led all Hockey East rookies in points during league play with 24 on seven goals and 17 assists.

THe Terriers, seeded fifth in the Hockey East tournament, will face third-seeded Northeastern in the first semifinal on Friday (March 22) at TD Garden. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
