For the 12th straight year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Earning the No. 3 spot in this year's Terrier 12 is the women's soccer team returning to the top of the Patriot League as it claimed its fourth league title and 13th conference championship overall.
The Terriers went undefeated in Patriot League games to secure its fourth league title in six seasons with a 1-0 shutout against Lehigh in the championship game at Nickerson Field.
Anna Heilferty, the Patriot League Tournament MVP, headed in the game-winning feed on a cross from
Kelly Harris in the 73rd minute.
The championship victory marked the 400th career win for head coach
Nancy Feldman. With the win, the Patriot League Coach of the Year became one of only 11 coaches in NCAA women's soccer history to accumulate 400 career victories.
Additionally, the win marked the 50th straight home-conference game victory at Nickerson Field. The streak, which dates back to 2007, is the longest active undefeated in home conference games streak in the NCAA.
BU would then play No. 19 LSU in the NCAA Tournament First Round, marking its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance, where took the Tigers to double overtime before falling in penalty kicks, Of the 32 First Round games, BU at LSU was the lone game decided in penalty kicks.
