Despite taking the loss, Amanda Fay was spectacular in net as she matched her career high with six saves in the first half before setting a new career mark with eight saves for the game.
How It Happened
- Fay came off her post twice in the 18th and 20th minute, covering a pair of one-on-one chances.
- Colorado kept the pressure up and took advantage on a counter attack in the 23rd minute. Kelsey Aaknes weaved through a trio of defenders and slotted the opening goal just inside the back-left post.
- The Buffs weren't done testing the Terrier backline, as Fay made a full-extension save in the 25th minute before stopping a point-blank shot from 10 yards out in the 28th minute.
- BU logged three shots in the first half, though none landed on frame as they headed into the break.
- Colorado picked up where it left off to start the second half, as Roo Yarnell-Williams was left along at the top of the 18-yard box and pushed the score to 2-0 just three minutes into the frame.
- From there, the Terrier defense buckled down, denying Colorado a shot for a 21-minute time span.
- Colorado native Ashley Buck nearly put BU on the board in the final minute, but the score held at 2-0.
- BU showed its depth again as 25 of its 28 players available saw the field.
- Kayla Ross started both contests on the weekend, the only freshman on the roster to do so.
- The Terriers moved to 2-8-2 all-time against Pac-12 opponents.
- BU will close out its three-game road trip with a visit to Boston College on Thursday, Aug. 29 at 5:30 p.m.
- Following Thursday's content, the Terriers will host Michigan State for its home opener in the nightcap of 13th annual Terrier Tailgate on Sunday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m.
