
Terriers to Host John Thomas Terrier Classic Friday and Saturday

BOSTON – The Boston University men's and women's track & field teams will host the 2020 John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday at the BU Track and Tennis Center. The women's competition starts on Friday at 1 p.m. followed by the men on Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Terriers will look to build on last week's performance at the BU Multi Team Meet. On the women's side, senior Leah Fowlkes finished first in the 500m dash with a time of 1:12.92, best in the Patriot League this season. Also, the 4x400m relay team of Fowlkes, Emma Montoya, Noelani Phillips and Jaiden Ritter finished first with a very fast time of 3:48.51.
For the men, Chiebuka Onwuzurike finished third in the 60m dash with a time of 7:00 and second in the 300m dash with a time of 33.90.

WOMEN
Headed into the weekend, junior Leah Fowlkes currently leads the Patriot league in the 500m dash with a time of 1:12.92 which she set at the BU Multi-Team Meet on Jan. 18.
MEN
Senior Chiebuka Onwuzurike currently has the second-best 60m dash time in the Patriot League with a mark of 6.81 which he set at the the BU Multi-Team Meet on Jan. 18. Onwuzurike also has the second-best time in the 200m dash with a time of 21.32 which he set at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener back on Dec. 7.

After this week's competition, the Terriers will host the Bruce Lehane Scarlett and White Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 1 at BU's Track and Tennis Center.
