Durocher Receives Ace Bailey Good Guy Award
March 16, 2020 | Women's Ice Hockey
Boston University women's ice hockey head coach Brian Durocher received the 2020 Ace Bailey Good Guy Award on March 11 at the 19th Annual Face Off for Ace, an evening to benefit the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.
The Ace Bailey Good Guy Award is presented annually to an individual who has supported and advanced the game of hockey in a significant way, either on the professional, college, or youth level and who is widely regarded as a truly "good guy." Durocher (Wheelock '78) is the second Boston University alumnus to receive this honor, as Jack Parker (Questrom '68, Hon. '97) won the award in 2012.
Durocher, a 42-year coaching veteran who has led the Terriers' women's ice hockey program for all 15 seasons it has been at the Division I level, reached the 300-win milestone this past season and finished the year with 309 victories. More importantly, he has impacted the lives of hundreds of student-athletes off the ice, consistently putting others before himself.
