BOSTON - The No. 11 Boston University men's ice hockey team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament and will face No. 8 St. Cloud State in the NCAA Northeast Regional on Saturday, March 27, at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPNews.
BU (10-4-1) is the No. 3 seed in the regional and will face the second-seeded Huskies (17-10) out of the NCHC. Top-ranked Boston College (17-5-1) is the No. 1 seed in the regional and will face No. 4 seed Notre Dame (14-13-2) from the Big Ten.
The Terriers and Huskies have met just once before, and that was also in Albany in an NCAA Tournament contest. BU bested St. Cloud State, 5-3, in the opening round of the 2000 NCAA Tournament. The Huskies enter this year's bracket having lost to North Dakota, 5-3, in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship.
This will be the program's 37th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Terriers have qualified for five of the last six NCAA Tournaments, with their last appearance coming in 2018. BU has advanced to the regional final in three of its last four tries.
