BOSTON – Returning from its longest road trip in 17 years, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Dartmouth on Tuesday night with tip-off slated for 7 p.m. As part of National Cocoa Day, fans will be treated to free hot chocolate.

The Terriers wrapped the seven-game excursion with a thrilling 72-70 win over the weekend, while the Big Green opened their four-game road trip with a 59-50 defeat at Central Connecticut State.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU is 3-0 at home for the second consecutive season, a feat last accomplished in the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. The Terriers last started 4-0 in back-to-back seasons in 1987-88 and 1988-89.
The Terriers own wins at Case Gym against Northeastern (72-63), Johnson & Wales (96-51) and Hartford (102-66).
Graduate student Walter Whyte posted a team-high 25 points and eight rebounds against the Red Foxes to remain the team leader in both scoring (14.2 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 rpg).
Classmate Jonas Harper is second on the team at 10.0 ppg with a team-high 15 steals, while senior Ethan Brittain-Watts is averaging 9.1 ppg and combining with junior Miles Brewster for 4.1 apg.
BU ranks 29th nationally in turnovers per game (10.7) and 78th in turnover margin (2.6) though has lost the turnover battle each of the last two games.
Overall, the Terriers are averaging 70.4 ppg and 41.4 FG% while holding teams to 67.2 ppg and 40.8 FG%.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH

The Big Green are 1-5 away from home, earning a 78-77 OT victory at University of Texas San Antonio.
Dartmouth also owns home wins over CSU Bakersfield (79-54) and a pair of non-D1 opponents.
6-foot-7 forward Dusan Neskovic leads at 11.9 ppg, just ahead of 6-foot-3 guard Ryan Cornish's 11.8 ppg, while 6-foot-8 forward Dame Adelekun has a team-high 7.3 rpg with 9.7 ppg.
Nearly doubling opponents in made 3-pointers at 9.4-5.2 per game, Dartmouth is averaging 72.2 ppg and 43.7 FG% while holding teams to 68.3 ppg and 42.5 FG%

SERIES HISTORY

Dartmouth leads the all-time series, 22-9, dating back to 1925, but BU is 4-1 since 2001.
Last season, facing a one-point deficit, Harper earned a steal and fastbreak layup to grab the lead for good with 14 seconds left before Javante McCoy ('22) added a pair of free throws and helped BU successfully defend against a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Harper tallied a game-high 19 points in the 65-62 victory.
In the last home meeting back in 2019, BU had all five starters score in double figures in a 78-76 win that saw the Big Green finish on a 9-4 spurt over the final 31 seconds, as the Terriers went 6-of-10 from the charity stripe and prevented Dartmouth from getting off a quality shot before the buzzer.

UP NEXT

After completing finals, BU will end the non-conference schedule at UMass Lowell on Wednesday, Dec. 21, with a 4 p.m. start time.
The Terriers have won the last three meetings, including last season's 72-62 home win, after the River Hawks won three of the previous four.
