
BU Wraps Fall Slate at ITA Super Regionals

WEST POINY, N.Y. – The Boston University women's tennis team completed its fall competition at the ITA Super Regionals on Friday. Junior Michelle Kleynerman and seniors Victoria Carlsten and Kaitlin Tan all competed in singles at the ITA event.
Carlsten was an automatic qualifier for the super regional tournament. She picked up a win in the round of 32 over Sophia Wang of Columbia, 6-2, 6-2 but then lost to an opponent from Penn in the round of 16 in straight sets.
Kleynerman also automatically qualified for the super regional event. In her first career appearance at the tournament, she took down Raffaela Alhach of Fordham in a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 decision. Kleynerman was then knocked out of the bracket with a loss to No. 109 Charlotte Owensby of Harvard in straight sets.
Tan also made her first career appearance at the ITA Super Regionals after advancing through the regional slate. She competed in the round of 32 but dropped a contest to Yale.
The Terriers will compete again in the spring when they start their regular season schedule.
