Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to Army West Point, 178-122

BOSTON - The Boston University women's swimming & diving team hosted Army West Point on Friday evening at FitRec Competition and the Black Knights came away with a 178-122 victory.
The Terriers claimed five wins on the day, including both relays, with junior Sophia Souza (3-meter) and freshmen Izzy Valantiejus (1,000 free) and Han Hoang (50 free) claiming first-place finishes.
Valantiejus touched the wall first in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 10:33.39 while Hoang was the 50-yard freestyle winner, posting a time of 23.27 seconds, and added a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle. Souza turned in a score of 307.95 in the 3-meter dive to earn the win.
BU also got runner-up finishes from junior Lara Mitchell (100 back, 200 back), senior Madison Kim (100 fly) and junior Sasha Ramey (200 IM).
The 200 medley relay of Mitchell, senior Clarissa Hoyt, Kim and Hoang took first in a time of 1:43.92 and the 200 free relay of sophomore Stella Langenbach, Kim, senior Blythe Brenner and Hoang also won, posting a time of 1:34.78.
BU will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 4, when it visits Massachusetts. Diving starts at 10 a.m. and swimming will begin at 1 p.m.
