
Prosser Wins Individual Title as Terriers Place Second at Patriot League Championship

HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Boston University women's cross country team finished as the runner-up at the Patriot League Championships on Saturday. BU was led by freshman Hannah Prosser who was crowned the individual champion in the 6K race.
Prosser, who came home in 20:37.5, swept the Rookie of the Meet and Outstanding Performer of the Meet honors. The First team All-Patriot League selection is BU's first individual winner since 2019. The Wanaka, New Zealand, native is the second woman in PL history to sweep both major awards, the first being Colgate's Stacey Marion in 2007.
BU scored 40 points in total and finished 11 points behind Army West Point. Navy took third with 74 points.
Second in for BU was sophomore Vera Sjöberg who placed second overall with a time of 21:45.1 to earn First Team All-PL distinction. Three freshmen rounded out the scoring five for the Terriers in Kelly Jones (22:37.4) in 10th, Adrienne Buettner-Cable (22:46.3) in 13th and Abby Waddington (22:47.6) in 14th. All three received Second Team All-PL honors.
Also competing for the Terriers were sophomore Samantha Seabury (23:58.3), junior Alex Vellekoop (24:12.2), freshman Kaitlyn Desio (24:13.4), sophomore Addison Schmidt (24:22.2) and freshman Kelsey Niglio (24:49.3).
BU will return to action on Fri., Nov. 10, when it competes at the NCAA Northeast Regional at Van Cortlandt Park in New York.
