BOSTON - The Boston University women's ice hockey team returns to Hockey East play with a visit to archrival and 15th-ranked Boston College on Friday (Nov. 17). Game time is set for 11 a.m. and it will be streamed on ESPN+ and TSN+. 

TERRIER TIDBITS

  • BU has won five of its past seven contests and is coming off a 3-1 loss at Harvard on Tuesday
  • The Terriers are averaging 11.9 shots more per game than their opponents this season. At this point last November, BU had a minus-7.4 shot differential, resulting in a 19.3 swing one year later.
  • BU had a four-game win streak snapped on Friday. It was the team's longest win streak since it closed out the 2019-20 regular season with four straight wins to cap an eight game unbeaten streak (7-0-1).
  • Senior Lacey Martin, who scored her first career hat trick on Nov. 4, leads the team in both points (10) and goals (7).
  • Sophomore Clara Yuhn (2g, 6a) has eight points and senior Catherine Foulem has contributed seven points, including five goals, to a balanced attack.
  • The Terriers' power play ranks third among Hockey East teams at 21.9 percent, while their penalty kill ranks second at 87.9 percent.
  • Senior Andi Calderone, who leads the team in plus-minus at +6, had career highs in goals (2) and points (3) in Saturday's win to earn Hockey East Defender of the Week honors and now has three goals on the year after scoring just twice in her first three seasons.
  • Calderone (3g, 3a), graduate student Nadia Mattivi (1g, 5a) and junior Maggie Hanzel (1g, 5a) each have six points this season and they rank tied for fifth among Hockey East defenders in points per game (0.60).
  • Graduate student Alexa Matses and freshman Mari Pietersen have shared time in goal and Matses has the edge in save percentage (.893 - .858) and goals-against-average (2.32 - 2.80).
  •  The Terriers rank first among Hockey East teams and sixth nationally in faceoff percentage at 56.3.


SERIES HISTORY

  • The Terriers and Eagles have met 67 times since BU became a varsity program in 2005, and BC holds a 36-24-7 advantage in the series.
  • The teams have split the past 10 meetings but the Eagles have won four straight for their longest win streak in the series since winning five straight from Nov. 7, 2015, to Nov, 4, 2016.
     

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

  • Boston College is 0-4 in non-conference play but has won seven of 10 Hockey East contests to move to the top of the league standings with 20 points.
  • The Eagles are coming off a split at Vermont with the Catamounts winning the finale, 3-2, on Saturday.
  • BC leads all Hockey East teams in power-play percentage at 24.4%.
  • Freshman Julia Pellerin and junior Abby Newhook each have 12 points on six goals and six assists.
  • Freshman Sammy Taber has added 11 points on the strength of a team-best eight assists.
  • Sophomore Grace Campbell has started all 14 games in goal and has a 2.80 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
     

UP NEXT

  • BU will visit Providence on Saturday (Nov. 18) in the first meeting of the season between the two teams.
  • The game will be televised on NESN.
