
Mitchell Wins 100 Back, Helps 200 Medley Relay Break School Record on Day Two of Terrier Invite

BOSTON - Senior Lara Mitchell of the Boston University swimming & diving team won the 100-yard backstroke in a personal-best time and helped the 200 medley relay break a school record on day two of the Terrier Invite at FitRec Competition Pool on Saturday.
To kick off the finals on Saturday, Mitchell joined senior Clarissa Hoyt, senior Madison Kim and freshman Han Hoang in the 200 medley relay and put up a time of 1:41.16, topping the program record of 1:41:32 set last year.
Later in the evening, Mitchell swam a 54.47 in the 100 back to claim first place and secure a personal best.
Freshman Izzy Ramos had a runner-up finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a personal-best time of 4:25.61 and sophomore Haley Newman was right behind her in third with a time of 4:27.32.
In the 200-yard freestyle, freshman Izzy Valantiejus swam a personal-best 1:52.66 to place third and sophomore Stella Langenbach was fourth at 1:52.78.
In the 3-meter dive, the Terriers finished 2-3-4 with junior Marina Cataldo (253.50), junior Sophia Souza (253.25) and senior Sumi Cameron (227.95).
The 800-yard freestyle relay of Kim, Newman, junior Sasha Ramey and Langenbach took third with a time of 7:36.22
The third and final day of the Terrier Invite with take place on Sunday (Nov. 19) with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m.
