BOSTON – With just four games remaining this regular season, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit in-state rival Holy Cross on Wednesday night with tip-off slated for 7 p.m.
The contest is part of the annual Turnpike Trophy competition between the BU and HC athletic departments in which points are awarded for head-to-head victories, both in the regular season and the postseason. The Terriers currently own a 5-3 advantage in the series following earlier wins in field hockey, women's soccer, women's ice hockey and men's and women's swimming & diving.
For the Terriers and Crusaders, the contest carries even more significance for both squads, as they try to become one of the six Patriot League teams to earn a first round bye. Holy Cross is currently half a game behind No. 6 American, while BU is 1 1/2 games behind.
