Fensore Named Hockey East Defender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. - Senior captain Domenick Fensore of the Boston University men's ice hockey team has been named Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Fensore was excellent in the Terriers' weekend sweep at Vermont. No other league player had more assists (3) or points (4) this weekend than Fensore, who was the only Hockey East blue liner to record three assists and four points. Fensore assisted on both game-winning goals, providing the primary helper on Friday's winner in the third period as part of his two-assist effort. He followed that with a goal and an assist in Saturday's shutout victory.
A 2023 Hobey Baker Award nominee, Fensore has scored a career-high nine goals, including three game-winners, and added 17 assists for 26 points this season. He has put together three multi-point performances in the last five games and has not taken a penalty in 13 games despite being among the top Terriers in terms of minutes played. Fensore is also a plus-11 and has blocked 34 shots this year.
BU will close out the regular season this weekend with a home-and-home series against Providence, beginning with senior night at Agganis Arena on Friday at 7 p.m.
