
Women’s Tennis Ranked Fourth in ITA Northeast Region

BOSTON – The Boston University women's tennis team was ranked No. 4 in the Northeast in the ITA Regional Rankings the ITA announced Friday. The Terriers also picked up three individual regional rankings in the announcement.
No. 4 is the highest BU has been ranked in the Northeast Region since it was created in 2010. Previously, BU had not been ranked higher than seventh in the region. This ranking comes after a season in which the Terriers saw a program record 19 wins, earned the Patriot League Title and made their 19th NCAA tournament appearance.
In singles, junior Victoria Carlsten was ranked No. 17. The junior posted an overall record of 24-10 which included a dual match record of 18-5 and a PL record of 4-0. She was also one of the individuals who helped double clinch the PL Title.
Grad student Shelly Yaloz also made the singles rankings at No. 20. The Patriot League Tournament MVP and ITA Most Improved Senior boasted a 23-7 overall record in singles. She also went 15-5 in dual matches and 5-0 in PL play. She notably upset the No. 65 singles player from Denver earlier this season at the No. 1.
In doubles, senior Erica Di Battista and junior Kaitlin Tan were ranked No. 10 in the northeast region. The duo primarily played at the No. 1 spot this season, posting a 6-6 record at that spot. They also went 7-6 in dual matches and 2-0 in PL play.
