HOW IT HAPPENED
- Braun made her first save just 1:47 into the match after the Wildcats intercepted a Terrier clear attempt. Abbi Maier rocketed an 18-yard shot from the top-left corner of the box to Braun down the middle.
- Gianino applied pressure in the eighth minute with a chance that later turned into two corner kicks. After both were unsuccessful, she ripped a chance wide right.
- In the 12th minute, Godoy settled a long ball from Braun to feed Stewart, whose 20-yard try zipped right to Rainey.
- Following the delay, a give-and-go opportunity between Gianino and Morgan Fagan set up the former 15 yards from goal, only to be denied by Rainey.
- With five minutes before halftime, Rainey couldn't cleanly handle Gianino's 20-yard shot. Fagan tried to loft the rebound, but Rainey deflected it to help a Wildcat marker head her chance away on the goal line.
- Godoy found the back of the net in the 48th minute when Stewart cut off a UNH clear. Pinballing to Godoy at the top of the box, she beat Rainey to the lower-left of the goal.
- In the 57th minute, Braun leaped to send Anna Hewlett's 25-yard opportunity over the crossbar. The ensuing corner kick didn't yield another UNH shot.
- Earning a free kick in the 75th minute towards the right corner of the box, Gianino bent her shot through five Wildcats on the wall and past Rainey in the lower-right corner.
- Following a free kick from midfield, Guarente got her boot on a loose ball in the box to hit nylon in the 82nd minute.
- BU recorded five shots from that point, including sophomore Mackenzie Stickelman's header with 2:01 left that just floated over the bar.
- As a team, BU outshot UNH, 21-6. The Terriers notched seven shots on goal to UNH's four.
- New Hampshire made five total saves on the day.
- Corner kicks favored BU, 5-3.
- Gianino, Braun, and junior Eileen Solomon played the full 90 minutes.
- UNH's Maddie Kolb sustained the only yellow card in the match in the 50th minute.
- Godoy and Gianino each tallied their second goals on the season.
- Both of Gianino's goals in 2023 have come on set pieces. She leads BU with six points on 28 shots this year.
- Her 10 shots against the Wildcats are the most by a Terrier in a single game in the Patriot League era.
- Stewart registed her first collegiate point, on the same day she started for the first time as a Terrier.
- BU's 21 shots are the most in a game since Mar. 21, 2021 in the 2020-21 season, when the Terriers rocketed 21 shots on Holy Cross.
- The Terriers went 3-1 vs. America East foes this season.
- BU improves to 19-4-1 all-time against New Hampshire, and 12-1 at home.
- The Terriers open Patriot League action against Loyola Maryland on Saturday (Sept. 16). Opening kick from Nickerson Field is slated for 1 p.m.
