HOW IT HAPPENED
- Terriers nearly gained an opportunity for open shot on goal in the sixth minute, but were ruled offside. Moments later, Lehigh cleared the first Terrier corner.
- The first Terrier shot came from Godoy's boot as she split two Mountain Hawk defenders to the right of the box, but she lifted the chance high in the ninth minute.
- The Mountain Hawks worked quickly through the BU zone for Corinne Lyght to take a shot near the right post, but Braun made the save in the 24th minute.
- After a Terrier corner didn't generate a shot, a 30-yard strike from the Mountain Hawks clanged off the right post in the final seconds of the first half.
- Four minutes out of halftime, Braun made a terrific diving stop to her right to send away a Schaller shot near the right corner of the box.
- Schaller broke the ice in the 58th minute when she sent a ball from the right corner on net, intending for a header. Though it was too high for a sprinting Lyght, it tucked into the left post.
- Flanegin converted a cross from the top-right corner of the box near the left post, volleying the ball off the crossbar and down past a diving Braun.
- BU got on the board in the 80th minute when junior Eileen Solomon's free kick found freshman Kat Slott, who flicked it towards Godoy for the left-footed finish past Ousouljoglou.
- Godoy was tripped immediately as she entered the box in the 81st minute to award a penalty kick to the Terriers. Gianino stepped to the dot and buried the ball in the upper-left corner for the equalizer.
- Lehigh's Faith Dobosiewicz almost capitalized on a left-corner cross in the 85th minute, but Braun denied her by the left post.
- BU's back line smothered two Mountain Hawk shots in the final two minutes.
- Lehigh sported a 16-10 advantage in shots, though both teams placed five shots on goal.
- Twenty-one of the match's 26 combined shots came in the second half.
- Corner kicks favored the Terriers, 5-4.
- Possession was evenly split, while BU spent 68 percent of its touches in Lehigh's end.
- Slott picked up the assist on Godoy's goal.
- Lyght and Sophia Lis added helpers on Flanegin's strike.
- Sunday marks BU's first regular season draw against a Patriot League foe since a 1-1 result with Loyola Maryland on Oct. 23, 2021.
- All three of Gianino's goals this season have come on set pieces, including two from the penalty spot. She has matched her total from a season ago.
- Godoy and Gianino share the team lead with three goals. The duo also notched their first goals against a Patriot League side.
- The Terriers erased a two-goal deficit for the first time as a Patriot League member.
- Slott, who made her collegiate debut, picks up her first collegiate point.
- The all-time series between BU and Lehigh now stands at 7-1-3 in the Terriers' favor. Sunday was the first tie between the pair since Sept. 23, 2017.
- BU heads down to Navy on Sunday (Oct. 1). Opening kick is scheduled for 1 p.m.
