ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Senior Abigail McNulty recorded her first-career brace and scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute to give the Boston University women's soccer team a 3-2 win over Navy on Sunday afternoon at the Glenn Warner Soccer Facility.

BU (5-4-3, 2-1-1 PL) scored three times in the second half, weathering a two-goal comeback from the Mids (6-4-3, 1-3-0 PL), to capture its first road victory on the season.

McNulty finished with a team-high two goals and five shots. Sophomore Giulianna Gianino added her fourth goal of the season. Junior goalkeeper Celia Braun notched two saves.

Katie Herrmann and Jenna Daunt found the back of the net for Navy. Mattie Gallagher collected four saves between the posts.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Fagan needed just 21 seconds to launch the match's first shot, as her 20-yard blast rolled wide left.
McNulty applied pressure near the goal line to coax a Terrier corner kick in the fifth minute, where Fagan's try was off the mark.
Godoy broke through the Navy back line on multiple occasions in the first 11 minutes, where her first shot rang off the crossbar in the seventh minute.
The Mids earned a corner kick in the 35th minute, where Braun poked away Rylee Rives' chance. The Terriers then cleared away the loose ball.
Two minutes out of halftime, Gianino drew a foul atop the 18-yard box. She then buried the free kick into the upper-right corner for the game's first goal.
McNulty got on the board just 7:36 later when she maneuvered around multiple Navy markers in the left corner and entered the penalty box to beat Gallagher for a 2-0 Terrier lead.
Navy got on the board just 47 seconds later on Herrmann's penalty kick.
Braun made a leaping save to her right in the 60th minute to deny Alexa Riddle.
In the 76th minute, a loose ball in the BU box found Daunt, who tucked a shot into the left side of the net past Braun.
Sophomore Mackenzie Stickelman nearly put BU back on top in the 79th minute when her 25-yard shot zipped over the crossbar.
She won a ball off a goal kick in the 85th minute, pushing it forward to McNulty for a 20-yard blast that bounced into the lower-left corner.

STATS

The Terriers held an 18-17 advantage in shots, including 8-4 in shots on target.
All 18 of BU's shots came from the starting lineup.
Navy had five corner kicks to BU's four, though both teams accounted for just one corner kick after halftime.
BU spent 68 percent of its possession in Navy's zone.
Braun and Gianino played the full 90 minutes.

NOTES

McNulty, playing for the first time since Aug. 20, is the first Terrier to score two goals in a game since Geovanna Pereira's brace at Army West Point on Oct. 27, 2021.
All four of Gianino's goals this season have come on set pieces, with three on free kicks. Her four goals and 11 points lead the Terriers.
Braun has surpassed 1,000 minutes played for the first time in her career.
BU has scored seven goals in its last three matches. All seven have come after halftime.
Overall, the Terriers' last nine goals have come in the second half.
BU improves to 10-3 all-time against Navy, having won three in a row.
