Women's Tennis Tops Western Carolina, 4-0

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Boston University women's tennis team wrapped up its southern road trip with a 4-0 sweep of Western Carolina on Sunday. BU did not drop a single set in the victory.
BU secured the doubles point with wins in the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. Freshmen Uma Bakaityte and Blanka DeMicheli teamed at line two to win 6-1 while junior Michelle Kleynerman and senior Victoria Carlsten clinched the point with a 6-2 win at line three. Line one's match was left unfinished.
The Terriers quickly secured the win with three singles victories at the Nos. 5, 1, and 4 spots, respectively. Sophomore Emily Zhao won her match at the No. 5 spot 6-0, 6-3. She was backed up by Carlsten at the top of the lineup who won in a dominant 6-0, 6-2 fashion. The match was decided by Bakaityte who posted a 6-3, 6-3 win at the No. 4 spot to clinch the win for BU.
Improving to 6-3 on the season, BU continues its schedule with a match at Harvard on March 2nd.
