ALLSTON, Mass. – The Boston University women's tennis team opened its fall slate at the Harvard Fall Classic over the weekend. BU faced opponents from Providence, Harvard and Boston College in the tournament.
 
In singles, freshmen Madison Liu and Gabby Mikaul went 3-0 on the weekend and did not drop a single set. Also going undefeated were seniors Nina Gulbransen (2-0), Rhea Rai (1-0) and junior Emily Zhao (1-0).
 
Sophomore Blanka DeMicheli went a combined 5-1 over the weekend. She had two singles wins over opponents from Providence and BC and went undefeated in doubles. DeMicheli and Liu topped opponents from BC and Harvard while DeMicheli and Gulbransen took down their Providence foes. Liu also picked up a doubles win alongside Kleynerman over Providence to go completely undefeated (6-0 combined) in the tournament. 
 
Sophomore Uma Bakaityte and Mikaul teamed in doubles, going 2-1 in the tournament with wins over opponents from Providence and BC. Mikaul also went a combined 5-1 overall.
 
BU will compete again on Friday (Sept. 20) at the Bulldog Invitational at Yale.
