Shaunessy Named Hockey East Defender of the Week

AMESBURY, Mass. – Graduate student Julia Shaunessy of the Boston University women's ice hockey team was named the Hockey East Defender of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Shaunessy recorded two assists in BU's Beanpot semifinal win over Harvard on Tuesday to help propel the Terriers to the championship game at TD Garden. She was +2 in the win and blocked one shot. In the loss at New Hampshire, she had three shots on goal.
The graduate student leads BU in points with 14 and assists with 13.
Shaunessy and the Terriers will be back on the ice Tuesday (Jan. 21) when they face Northeastern in the Beanpot championship game. Puck drop at TD Garden is set for 7:30 p.m.
