HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
- The Eagles opened the scoring shorthanded on the game's first shot on net at the 5:17 mark of the first period.Â
- However, with extended power-play time on a BC major penalty, the Terriers capitalized twice in a span of 38 seconds to take a 2-1 lead.
- Quinn Hutson got things started, tying the game at 1-1 at the 11:48 mark. Hutson and Willander played catch along the blue line before Willander found Greene in the left circle for a one-time attempt. Jacob Fowler (31 saves) made the initial stop, but Hutson was ready at the back door to pick up the loose change.Â
- Eiserman gave the Terriers a 2-1 lead at 12:26 of the first. Senior Jack Hughes carried the puck into the BC zone and dropped it off for Eiserman, who attempted a dump around the boards. The puck took an odd bounce and found itself in front of an empty Eagles' net. A BC defender attempted to swat the puck away, but it landed on the tape of Eiserman, who easily found the back of the net.
- BC was held to just two shots on the net in the final 11:33 of the opening period, but they tied the game at the 5:30 mark of the second period with an even-strength goal.Â
- Senior Mathieu Caron made a point-blank save at 7:05 to keep the game tied, but BC added two goals at 13:03 and 15:00 of the middle frame to grab a 4-2 lead.
- On the Terriers' sixth power play of the night, Eiserman came close to bringing BU within one, drawing iron at the 10:05 mark of the third period.Â
- A late-period BU power play and a pulled goaltender gave the home team a 6-on-4 advantage, but Ryan Leonard completed a hat trick with two empty-netters to create the 6-2 final
