BOSTON – The Boston University women's basketball team plays its first Patriot League road contest of the year on Sunday (Jan. 5), visiting Army West Point. Opening tip is set for 1 p.m.

BU (6-6, 0-1 PL) will play two consecutive contests away from home before returning to Terriers Town on Saturday (Jan. 11). Last season, BU went 3-8 on the road against Patriot League foes, including postseason play.

Army West Point (9-2, 1-0 PL) plays its third straight and seventh overall home match on the campaign. The Black Knights are 5-1 inside Christl Arena in 2024-25.

Sunday's game airs on ESPN+. Army West Point will provide live statistics and an audio-only stream, while the Patriot League supplies an international stream.

TERRIER TIDBITS

The Terriers dropped their Patriot League opener to Lafayette, 66-55, on Jan. 2 at Case Gym.
Despite making its first five shots of the game, BU surrendered a 22-0 run to the Leopards through the first and second quarters.
Senior Alex Giannaros led all scorers with 20 points, including 11 points in the game's first three minutes.
Sophomore Audrey Ericksen posted 12 points on 50 percent shooting.
BU is 4-1 following a loss this season and has not lost official back-to-back games since Nov. 7 and 16.
Giannaros needs two points to match Cheri Raffo '08 for 16th place on BU's all-time scoring list.
Sophomore Aoibhe Gormley has led the Terriers in their last two games with 11 rebounds, nine assists, five steals and zero turnovers.
Sunday will mark the first of three two-game road swings for BU during Patriot League play. The next trips occur from Feb. 15-19, then again on Mar. 1-5.
Seven different Terriers are averaging at least 5.5 points per road game this season, led by Giannaros' 12.3 points per contest.

SCOUTING ARMY WEST POINT

The Black Knights defeated Colgate in their league lidlifter, 56-38, on Jan. 2.
Army has won nine of its last 10 contests.
Trinity Hardy is the lone Black Knight averaging double figures at 14.5 points per game, though eight Black Knights are scoring five or more points per matchup.
Army was projected to finish fourth in the Patriot League preseason poll, one spot above BU, under fourth-year head coach Missy Traversi.
Last season, the Black Knights posted a 12-17 record, going 9-9 in conference play to secure the sixth seed in the Patriot League Tournament.

SERIES HISTORY

Sunday marks the 32nd all-time meeting between BU and Army West Point in a series that began in 1980.
The Terriers sport a 20-11 edge and have won 10 out of the last 11 matchups.
On the road, BU is 8-6 against the Black Knights.
Both teams have met in the Patriot League Tournament in the last three seasons, with the Terriers winning each matchup.
Last year, each team won its home game in the regular season series. No. 3-seed BU won 64-62 over 6-seeded Army in the Patriot League quarterfinal round back on Mar. 11 thanks to Caitlin Weimar's layup with 1.2 seconds left in regulation.
