BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Senior
Jakob Esterowitz and sophomore
Payton Jim-On competed at the ITA Patriot League Masters this past weekend, with the pair making the final as a doubles team.
Esterowitz and Jim-On defeated opponents from Colgate in the quarterfinal, 8-4, and the No. 2 seed from Navy, 8-3, in the semifinal, but dropped the championship match, 8-5, to the top-seeded duo from Bucknell.
In the singles tournament, the fourth-seeded Esterowitz dispatched of an opponent from Loyola Maryland, 6-1, 7-5 in the round of 16 to move onto the quarterfinals. There, he defeated a Lehigh opponent in a three-set match, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5), before falling to his opponent from Bucknell in the semifinal, the top-seeded player in the field. Jim-On dropped his round of 16 match to an opponent from Army West Point.
Next up, the Terriers will head to the Dartmouth Invite from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 up in Hanover, New Hampshire.
