SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - Senior Will Barnes, senior Matthew Fritz and junior Connor Kehm of the Boston University men's lacrosse team were named to the preseason All-New England Team, the NEILA announced on Thursday.
All three were impact players for the Terriers during the 2024 campaign. Barnes was a Second Team All-Patriot League and Second Team All-New England selection after leading the conference in both save percentage (.538) and saves per game (13.29) a year ago. He finished sixth in the NCAA in saves per game and was also third in the PL in goals-against average (11.50).
Fritz took at least one faceoff in all 17 games, winning 53.4% of his draws (155-of-290) in addition to scoring a career-high three goals and dishing out one assist for four points. He was especially good in the Terriers PL semifinal win at Army West Point, going 13-of-20 at the X with six ground balls against the reigning PL Faceoff Specialist of the Year in an 11-10 victory.
Kehm started 11 of the Terriers' 17 games last season at close defense, collecting 45 ground balls, recording 22 caused turnovers and notching one assist. He was especially good in the Terriers' final four games of the season, totaling 16 ground balls and seven caused turnovers in that span.
