Murphy Named PL Faceoff Specialist of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sophomore Madden Murphy of the Boston University men's lacrosse team has been named Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
This is the second time this year and the fifth time overall that Murphy has received this award. He was excellent this past Tuesday against No. 3 Harvard, going 17-for-27 at the X and winning a career-best 13 ground balls. Murphy's previous career high for ground balls was seven, which he achieved in a 14-13 overtime win at Lehigh on March 7. A native of East Setauket, New York, Murphy has won at least 11 faceoffs on six different occasions. He's been particularly good in March, going 73-of-101 (.584) this past month with 30 ground balls.
BU will begin the final month of the regular season on Saturday, April 4, when the Terriers travel to Baltimore to face Loyola Maryland. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
