Roberts Joins Men’s Lacrosse Staff

BOSTON – The Boston University men's lacrosse program has hired Tim Roberts as an assistant coach ahead of the 2027 season, head coach Ryan Polley announced on Thursday.

"Tim is a rising star in the coaching world and brings valuable experience from Skidmore along with a genuine commitment to player development that aligns perfectly with our program's values. His expertise and energy will strengthen our coaching depth and contribute to our mission of developing elite lacrosse players and even better people. We look forward to working together to build on the culture and success we've established at Boston University."
Roberts comes to BU after two seasons as an assistant coach at Skidmore where he served as the defensive coordinator. While there, he helped the team make the Liberty League playoffs for the first time in 15 years in 2025. Prior to his time at Skidmore, Roberts had a brief stint as an assistant coach at SNHU in the fall of 2024.
At the club level, Roberts brings experience from the New England Twisters Lacrosse Club and the 802 Lacrosse Club. He served as a coach with the Twisters from 2019-2026 and worked with the 802 Lacrosse Club in winter 2023-24.
Roberts was a defender at Vermont where he spent five seasons with the Catamounts, helping them to America East Championship titles in 2021 and 2022. He graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in in business administration and earned a graduate certificate in sustainable enterprise in 2024.
