Returning for an 18th year, the Terrier Twelve recognizes the top achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Monday and Thursday this summer as we unveil this year's Terrier Twelve on GoTerriers.com.
Coming in at No. 10 in this year's Terrier Twelve is men's lacrosse, which clinched a share of the Patriot League regular-season title.
The Terriers went 6-2 in league play, highlighted by a fifth straight win over Army West Point and overtime victories over Lehigh and Bucknell. BU has now won a share of the PL regular-season title three times in the last five years (2022, 2023, 2026).
BU was led by a league-best and program-record five First Team All-Patriot League selections, including PL Faceoff Specialist of the Year Madden Murphy. The second Terrier to claim that award after Sam Talkow in 2016, Murphy finished first in the PL and 15th in the NCAA with a .596 faceoff win percentage and won a league-best 183 faceoffs. He was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Sophomore Timothy Shannehan was a consensus All-American after leading the nation in points per game (5.43). Senior Connor Kehm was selected as an Inside Lacrosse All-American after another spectacular season at close defense, totaling 33 caused turnovers and 59 ground balls this season, both of which are career highs. He ranked fifth in the nation with 2.36 caused turnovers per game and also averaged 4.21 ground balls per game, which was eighth-best among the nation's long poles.
Junior Tyler Fox was a USA Lacrosse All-American after a breakout season in the offensive midfield, as he set new career highs in goals (14), assists (10) and points (24). Sophomore Andrew Pape was also a First Team All-Patriot League honoree after he set new career highs in goals (18), assists (7), points (25), ground balls (8) and caused turnovers (3). Juniors Logan Styles and Donald Varnerin secured Second Team All-Patriot League honors with junior Luke Davis joining Kehm, Murphy and Shannehan on the All-New England Team.
In addition to the individual success, BU was once again a top-10 team in several statistical categories. The Terriers ended the season as the best riding team in the country, holding opponents to a .735 clearing percentage. BU was also second in the NCAA in caused turnovers per game (12.29) and ground balls per game (38.29).
