Terriers Celebrate Senior Day with 13-2 Win over Lafayette
April 18, 2026 | Men's Lacrosse
BOSTON - Graduate student Michael Allieri made 12 saves in his first start as a Terrier and senior Jimmy Kohr scored four goals to help lead the Boston University men's lacrosse team to a 13-2 win over Lafayette on Saturday at Nickerson Field.
BU (7-5, 5-2 PL) and Lafayette (5-8, 1-6 PL) were separated by just one goal after 15 minutes, but BU extended that 2-1 lead to a 6-1 edge at halftime thanks to a 4-0 run in the second quarter. The game was never in doubt in the second half, as the Leopards managed only a flukey goalie goal in the third quarter. Allieri in 54:44 of work before ceding the cage to senior Kevin Barrett, who stopped the one shot on target that he faced.
The Terriers celebrated their 11-member senior class in style, with everyone seeing the field on Saturday. Senior Charlie Huntley anchored a short-stick defensive unit that was sensational against the Leopards, as Huntley, along with juniors James Lapina, Jackson Matthews and Luke Davis, continuously won their 1-on-1 matchups. Davis led that group with two caused turnovers and four ground balls. Senior Connor Kehm anchored the close defense unit and picked up team-high six ground balls in addition to causing a turnover. Senior Matt Freeman recorded three caused turnovers and one ground ball. Senior Aden Johnson was part of a faceoff unit that went 9-for-18 on the game, with sophomore Madden Murphy going 9-for-15 with three ground balls. Kabran Clark, Charlie Howard and Tommy Garofalo combined for 10 shot attempts out of the Terrier midfield.
Senior Ethan Hart found the back of the net, one of six Terrier goal scorers. Sophomore Timothy Shannehan led the Terriers with six points on three goals and three assists while classmate Andrew Pape recorded a hat trick. Junior Tyler Fox collected one goal and one assist while freshman Peyton Forte tallied two assists. Sophomore Finn Lawrence assisted on classmate Mike Rooney's man-up goal that closed the scoring.
The Terriers' defensive performance matched their program record for fewest goals allowed in a game and it's the fewest goals the Terriers have ever allowed to a Division I opponent. It was buoyed in part by an impressive performance by the man-down unit, which held Lafayette to an 0-for-6 mark on EMOs. The Terriers also won the ground ball battle, 35-27, and caused 16 of the Leopards' 27 turnovers.
BU clinched a spot in the top four of the Patriot League standings with one regular-season game remaining.

- Pape hammered home a shot from distance with 6:03 left in the frame and that sent the Terriers to the second quarter with a 2-1 edge.

- Pape then made it 4-1 on the next possession with a lefty bouncer at 8:07.
- Murphy won the next faceoff back to his own end and the Terrier successfully cleared it before Shannehan found Fox on the run in transition to make it 5-1 at 7:39.

- Kohr and Hart both found the back of the net in a span of 1:05 to make it a 9-2 game with 7:07 left in the third quarter.
- Shannehan pushed the lead to 10-2 just 56 seconds into the final frame with another terrific goal coming around from X before Pape made it 11-2 with 9:12 to go.
