BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Senior Gabe Brown was named to the Second Team All-Patriot League on Friday afternoon, the league office announced.
The senior went 4-6 at first singles this season, vaulting into the top spot in the rotation after not cracking the top six a season ago. He produced wins against Holy Cross, Franklin Pierce, Bryant and Loyola Maryland in the Patriot League tournament.
Brown had a 2-2 record against Patriot League opponents, with four matches going unfinished due to other results. The Terriers were down to five active players during the year and began each match down 1-0.
Against No. 8 Loyola Maryland, he cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 win to help BU earn its first win of the season in the PL first round. In his match against No. 1-seeded Navy's top singles player, he won the first set 6-2, lost the second set 1-6 and was down 1-0 in the final set before it went unfinished in the PL quarterfinal.
On top of his singles wins, Brown played a part in four doubles wins, including victories against Holy Cross (6-3) and Lafayette (6-3) with doubles partner, graduate student Jonah Dickson. He finished the spring season 4-6 at doubles.
