LUBBOCK, Texas – The Boston University women's tennis team (13-9) concluded its season with a 4-0 loss to 11th-seeded No. 12 Texas Tech on Friday. The Terriers put up a tough battle through singles and doubles but ultimately came up short, bringing their season to an end.
Â
In doubles, the Terriers fought hard across all three courts, with multiple games going to a deuce. Senior Nina Gulbransen and junior Emily Zhao were the only pair to take a lead in their match, going up 2-0 before Texas Tech responded. BU held a 3-1 lead at one point before the Red Raiders took a 4-3 lead and the match went unfinished. Texas Tech ultimately claimed the doubles point with wins at the top two spots.

The lone Terrier to win a singles set was freshman Gabriella Mikaul. The Patriot League rookie of the year posted a 6-3 first set win, marking just the sixth time in BU history that a Terrier has won a set in NCAA singles play. Sophomore Uma Bakaityte was up 5-4 in her second set before the match went unfinished.
