BOSTON – The Boston University women's soccer program begins its two-game trip on the west coast with a matchup at San Francisco on Thursday (Aug. 28). Opening kick from Negoesco Stadium is set for 9 p.m. ET and 6 p.m. local time.
BU (2-1) is playing its first game in California since 2012, when it squared off against Stanford and Santa Clara in the Stanford Nike Invitational. Thursday will mark the Terriers' eighth contest against a West Coast Conference foe.
San Francisco (1-2) is amid a seven-game stretch where six games take place at home. Last year, the Dons went 4-7-1 in San Francisco.

TERRIER TIDBITS
- BU got back in the win column with a 3-1 road win over reigning America East champion Maine last Sunday (Aug. 24).
- Senior Giulianna Gianino played a role in all three scores with two first-half goals and an assist.
- Junior Ava Maguire found the back of the net 23 seconds into the second half for her first career tally.
- Senior Margy Porta and junior Ciara Kennedy each notched their first assists of the season.
- Sophomore Alli Powderly, who has already established personal bests with three starts in three games in 2025, also collected her first collegiate point.
- BU's 2.33 goals per game and 1.33 scoring margin rank first and second, respectively, in the Patriot League.
- Gianino, who recently moved into 10th place in the Terrier record book with 20 career goals and 53 career points, paces the conference with 2.33 points per game and four shots per game.
- Sunday was the 140th time that BU scored three goals in a game in program history. BU is 139-0-1 in those contests.
SCOUTING SAN FRANCISCO
- After opening the campaign with two losses to No. 7 Stanford (7-0) and California (3-2), the Dons upset No. 18 Texas Tech on Aug. 24, 2-0.
- Kaitlyn Sasadeusz has scored three of San Francisco's four goals this year and is the reigning WCC Offensive Player of the Week.
- The Dons return 21 student-athletes from a year ago, including All-WCC honorable mention Lindsey Chau.
- Last year, San Francisco went 5-11-2, going 1-7-2 in WCC action.
SERIES HISTORY
- Thursday marks the second all-time meeting between BU and San Francisco.
- The two programs met back on Sept. 7, 2014 at Nickerson Field, where the Dons were 1-0 victors.
- Against the WCC, the Terriers are 3-3-1, with wins against Portland, Santa Clara and Saint Mary's. The last victory came against the Pilots on Sept. 4, 2011.
