HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first half featured six lead changes with Army grabbing its largest lead of the game at 15:05 with Jorn Everson scoring a layup off a BU turnover to pull ahead, 12-7.
- McNair and Abdullah though hit back-to-back 3-pointers to retake the lead, 13-12, with 13:38 left in the half.
- After Jaxson Bell netted two free throws for a 17-16 lead a minute later, Defty hauled in an offensive rebound and McNair eventually drove to the hoop to put BU ahead for good.
- Owning a 24-22 lead with 10:28 left in the half, Defty hit a layup and the bonus free throw to spark a 9-0 spurt capped by his layup two minutes later.
- The Black Knights scored eight straight points in response with Joshua Eli netting back-to-back buckets from behind the arc, and Bell added one of his own to cut BU's lead to 40-36 at 2:55.
- BU ended the half on an 11-3 run with Gladden scoring all 11 points thanks to three 3-pointers for the 51-39 advantage on the scoreboard.
- Abdullah drained a 3-pointer for BU's largest lead, 64-45, with 14:38 remaining in regulation.
- The Black Knights chipped away and eventually pulled within six at 3:25 (85-79) and 3:08 (87-81), respectively, but the Terriers had a response each time to earn the victory.
- BU reached 100 points for the fifth time under head coach Joe Jones and 33rd overall after last hitting the century mark during the 1994-95 campaign against Army in an 103-83 decision.
- The Terriers previously accomplished the feat against a conference opponent during the 1989 North Atlantic Conference semifinals with a 104-84 victory over Northeastern. BU last hit the mark during the regular season against a conference opponent with 104-86 win at Northeastern on Jan. 25, 1983.
- With the 104-57 win over VTSU Johnson back in December, BU has reached 100+ points multiple times in one season for the first time since hitting the century mark four times during the 1979-80 season.
- BU's 66.7 shooting percentage topped the previous high of 66.1 set back on March 5, 2014, during a 91-54 win over Lafayette in the 2014 PL semifinals. The Terriers went 37-for-56 in the contest.
- McNair and Gladden's combined 54 points marked the most by a Terrier duo since Jake O'Brien's ('12) 28 points and Corey Lowe's ('10) 26 points combined for 54 in an 87-46 win at Hartford on March 6, 2010.
- McNair reached 20+ points for the sixth time this season and eighth time overall. He also reached 28 or 29 points for the third time by hitting at least five 3-pointers in a game for the sixth time.
- Named PL Rookie of the Week on Monday, Gladden tied his previous high of 26 points set at Navy and scored at least 20 for the fourth time this season. Gladden also had at least five assists for the seventh time.
- Abdullah's 17 points marked a season-high and his fifth 10+ point performance of the year, while Defty (18 pts.) reached 18+ for the fourth time.
- After totaling nine assists through his first nine appearances, Tisinger dished out a combined 11 assists in two games this past week. He also hauled in a combined 12 rebounds over the first 10 games before leading BU with seven against Army.
- Tisinger's 11 free throws marked the most by a Terrier since junior Kyrone Alexander went 12-for-12 at Lehigh last season.
- Army edged BU in made 3-pointers, 16-15, but the Terriers outscored the Black Knights in the paint, 38-26, and posted a 17-13 advantage in made free throws.
- BU will conclude the brief homestand by hosting Lehigh on Wednesday (Jan. 14) at 6 p.m.
- The Terriers earned the sweep last season with a 63-58 home victory and 79-68 road win.
- Last year at Case Gym, BU more than doubled the Mountain Hawks in made 3-pointers, 9-4, to help overcome 15 turnovers against Lehigh's nine miscues.
