NORTH HAVEN, Conn. — The Boston University men's tennis team posted a 5-2 win over the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Saturday evening.
The Terriers (2-5) started the match off with two doubles wins to take the point, as senior Jakob Esterowitz and sophomore Payton Jim-On defeated their opponents at second doubles, 6-3, and junior Adrian Quiros and sophomore Ege Topkoc took down their opponents at third doubles, 6-2.
Four Terriers earned singles wins, with Jim-On's being the only match to go to a decisive third set. He prevailed at third singles, 7-5, 3-6, 6-2. Freshman David Asenov, moving up to the second singles spot, held on for a 7-5, 6-4 decision.
Quiros had an easier time in his match, only dropping five games in a 6-4, 6-1 match at fourth singles, and sophomore Andrew Andea cruised to a win at fifth singles by a 6-2, 6-0 score.
Next up, BU will head to the Willows Racquet Club in North Andover to take on Merrimack on Friday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.
