Terriers Notch 5-2 Win Over SNHU on Senior Day

BOSTON — The Boston University men's tennis team defeated Southern New Hampshire University, 5-2, on Sunday at the Track & Tennis Center.
The Terriers (4-5) took two out of the three doubles matches and followed that with three straight singles wins to clinch the match over the Penmen (3-6). They would play the final three matches out, with BU claiming one of three.
At first doubles, senior Jakob Esterowitz and sophomore Payton Jim-On kicked off the day with a 6-4 win over their opponents. Then sophomore Jaydon Barki teamed with classmate Andrew Andea to win, 6-4 at third doubles.
The first singles match to finish was third singles, where Jim-On earned a 6-0, 6-4 victory over his opponent. At first singles, Esterowitz wrapped his senior day with a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Then at the fourth flight, junior Adrian Quiros earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory to clinch the match for BU.
Sophomore David Asenov had to battle to a third set at second singles, but pulled out a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 victory over his opponent.
Next up, the Terriers will head to Bryant on Friday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. for a match with the Bulldogs.
