CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After facing a nine-run deficit entering the bottom of the second inning, the Boston University softball team rallied for a 20-12 run-rule victory against Marshall Sunday afternoon to wrap up the Charlotte Invitational.

Tallying the most runs in program history with the help of a record-tying 21 hits, the Boston University softball team improves to 5-9, as the Thundering Herd (9-8) saw their four-game win streak snapped.

Eight Terriers earned multiple hits with senior Brooke Deppiesse, sophomore Camryn Lyons and junior Kyomi Apalit all collecting three apiece. Finishing with five RBIs apiece, senior Megan Coyle launched the go-ahead grand slam in the fourth, and Deppiesse delivered a bases-clearing walk-off triple for the victory.
