TERRIER TIDBITS
- Following last weekend's 0-4 performance at the Carolina Classic with two losses to both No. 16 South Carolina and Louisville, the Terriers are currently on a five-game losing streak, their longest since dropping nine straight in 2020 en route to a 37-20 record.
- Junior Kyomi Apalit ieads the Terriers batting .421 with sophomore Kieren McHugh in second at .385. Both freshman Irys Kline (.381) and senior Brooke Deppiesse (.276) have combined for seven RBIs and seven runs scored.
- Senior Kasey Ricard (3-3, 3.32 ERA) has started six of her seven games played and has totaled 38 strikeouts in 38.0 innings of work against 11 walks while holding opponents to .248 batting average.
- Sophomore Danika Nell (0-2, 7.97 ERA) has tallied five strikeouts in 9.2 innings, while senior Haley Ganino has earned two strikeouts in 6.1 innings.
- Overall, BU is batting .240 while holding opponents to .305 with a 22-2 advantage in stolen bases alongside 15-11 edge in extra-base hits.
Jacksonville, 6-4 (Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.)
- Coming off a 23-27 (9-15 A-Sun) season, the Dolphins are currently 6-4 with a 6-1 mark against programs located in the Northeast. Jacksonville run-ruled UMass twice by a combined score of 21-1 and opened the year with 6-2 win against Colgate before most recently claiming a doubleheader sweep over Iona. Princeton pulled out a 7-5 decision.
- Kate Linkletter (.542) owns a .676 on-base percentage with three homers, three doubles, six hit-by-pitches, four walks and 19 RBIs alongside nine runs scored, while Emma Mansfield (.344) has 11 runs scored.
- Jacy Harrelson (3-2, 2.92 ERA) and Jordan White (3-1, 3.59 ERA) have combined for 33 strikeouts in 53.2 innings while holding opposing batters between .218 - .223 batting average.
- BU is 1-1 all-time with both contests taking place on a neutral field in Florida. The Terriers dropped a 9-3 decision in 2009 and then pulled out a 3-2 victory in 2011.
- After finishing last season with a 30-27 (17-10 AAC) record, the 49ers are currently riding a seven-game win streak as part of a strong start to 2026. They most recently posted an 8-3 home win over No. 23 Clemson on Wednesday following a 4-0 performance at last weekend's Queen City Classic that featured a 4-2 victory against then-No. 14 Virginia Tech, 11-0 (5) win over Villanova and a pair of victories against a Michigan State (8-0, 16-13) squad receiving votes in multiple polls.
- Brelyn O'Hearn (.400 avg.) and Jenna Lordan (.382) have combined for five homers, 21 RBIs and 18 runs scored, while Jaylah Jarrell (.615) has totaled a pair of homers, seven RBIs and seven runs scored.
- Taylor Jones (4-1, 1.85 ERA) and Brooke Bowling (2-1, 4.79 ERA) have combined for 39 strikeouts in 49.1 innings for a staff is limiting opponents to a .243 batting average.
- The 49ers lead the all-time series, 7-3, after claiming a 10-9 (8) win last season at home to avenge a pair of losses to BU in 2024 (5-0, 2-1). Charlotte run-ruled the Terriers, 11-1 (5), in 2023.
- The Thundering Herd went 31-23 (15-9 Sun Belt) last season and have dropped four contests this year to ranked opponents while earning notable non-conference wins over UConn (10-10 and Iowa (6-3).
- Sydni Burko (.455 avg.) has delivered four doubles and impressive six homers already with 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored, while Bella Gerlach (.368), Leslie Diamond (.295 avg.) and Ava Blake (.258) have combined for 10 homers alongside 21 RBIs.
- Paige Maynard (2-2, 3.00 ERA), Maddie Veal (0-2, 4.14 ERA) and Jules King (2-3, 5.17 ERA) have totaled 39 strikeouts in 67.2 innings of work.
- Marshall won the lone meeting, 13-12, coincidentally at Charlotte in 2010.
- BU will conclude its scheduled time outside New England by making the trek to the Duke Invitational in Durham, North Carolina, for four games against Power 4 opponents.
- The Terriers will first face Northwestern on both Feb. 27 and Feb. 28 at 10 a.m., which will be followed by contests against Ohio State (Feb. 28) and the host Blue Devils (March 1).
