February 27, 2026 | Men's Track & Field, Women's Track & Field
BOSTON — The Boston University track & field programs are set to host the 2026 Patriot League Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Track & Tennis Center from Feb. 28-March 1.
Action begins at 11 a.m. both days and streaming will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday live on ESPN+.
The women's team won the 2025 Patriot League Indoor Championships, earning its third title in program history and first since 2016. The Terriers are looking to go back-to-back for the first time in program history.
The men's team is aiming for a fifth-straight top three finish and its first win in program history.
The men finished third at the Championships last year with 93 points and return Academic All-Patriot League Team members Freddy Collins and Karsen Vesty .
Entering this weekend, the men have broken three school records and added 13 marks to the top 10 all-time list. Senior Freddy Collins toppled the 3000m record (7:49.90) and the 5000m record (13:48.57), becoming the first Terrier to ever hold both those records. Sophomore Thomas Cowan broke the 800m record twice and sits at 1:46.83 in the event, good for 21st in the NCAA this season.
The women's team's championship saw them score 166 points in the win. Two All-Patriot League Team members return, including reigning Field Athlete of the Year Peace Omonzane (2025 long jump, triple jump champion). Senior Ellie Roan (2025 weight throw champion) also returns for BU.
Two school records have been shattered by the women's squad this season, with Roan throwing 21.45m in the weight throw to break her own school record. The other record is an 8:38.32 time in the women's 4x800m run from Leonni Griffin, Caroline Collins, Samantha Lascelles and Olivia Dodds, which toppled a 33-year-old record and ranks 22nd all-time in Division I history. On top of that, the Terriers have set 22 top 10 marks over the course of the indoor season to this point.
