Ricard Garners Pair of National Weekly Awards
March 17, 2026 | Softball
BOSTON – Adding to the awards haul following a perfect 4-0 performance in the circle, Boston University softball senior Kasey Ricard claimed Pitcher of the Week honors from both Softball on Sports Illustrated (SI) and D1Softball, as announced by the two media entities Tuesday afternoon.
Ricard led the Terriers with one save, a 0.00 ERA and 25 strikeouts recorded over 24.0 innings of work. Her efforts led to a Patriot League record-tying 16th career Pitcher of the Week award on Monday. The Littleton, Massachusetts, native then a day later added two national honors.
D1Softball named Ricard the top mid-major Pitcher of the Week after tabbing her a two-time national Pitcher of the Week and Second Team All-American back in 2024. Softball on SI started unveiling its first set of national weekly awards back in February.
Ricard started off the week tallying nine strikeouts against one walk and five hits allowed in a 7-0 win over Quinnipiac last Tuesday. After shutting out defending Ivy League champion Brown and pitching three scoreless innings in a 7-3 victory against UMass Lowell for her seventh career save on Saturday, she claimed a pair of one-hit shutouts against the River Hawks and Bears on Sunday.
BU will next host Stonehill in a doubleheader on Wednesday (March 18) with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
