BOSTON – Wrapping up a six-game homestand, the Boston University softball team will host Stonehill on Wednesday (March 18) with the doubleheader slated for a 2 p.m. first pitch.

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU is currently on an 11-game win streak after winning its first six home games last week by a combined score of 61-4.
Senior Brooke Deppiesse, junior Kyomi Apalit and reigning Patriot League Rookie of the Week Irys Kline are all batting .385 with a combined 55 RBIs and 60 runs scored.
Named PL Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday, junior Kylie Doherty (.333) has delivered a team-high 10 homers and 34 RBIs with 25 runs scored while adding 17 walks, one shy of Kline.
In the circle, four Terriers have made at least eight appearances with senior Kasey Ricard (13-5, 3.47 ERA) owning a team-high 111 strikeouts earned over 109.0 innings of work.
Now the all-time wins leader at BU with 87 victories, Ricard is just seven away from tying the PL record. On Monday, she tied the PL record for most Pitcher of the Week awards at 16 total.
Recipient of her first Pitcher of the Week honor earlier this season, senior Haley Ganino (5-1, 3.53 ERA) has limited opponents to eight extra-base hits over 37.2 innings of work.
The Terriers are batting .324 and holding teams to .270 with a 68-51 lead in extra-base hits, while opponents are ahead in stolen bases, 34-11.

SCOUTING STONEHILL

After posting a 16-34 (5-13 NEC) record last season, the Skyhawks most recently opened conference play at Wagner with a 15-4 victory and pair of losses by a combined score of 28-5.
Juli Murillo leads Stonehill batting .342 with three doubles, five RBIs and seven runs scored, while Sarah Taylor (.333) owns a team-high 11 RBIs alongside five runs scored and a home run.
Seven Skyhawks have appeared in the circle at least three times with five making at least one start. Harper Sullivan (1-4, 8.66 ERA) has totaled six strikeouts in 26.2 innings of work.
Overall, Stonehill is batting .202 and holding opponents to .450 with teams earning a 65-18 advantage in extra-base hits.

SERIES HISTORY

The two teams are tied, 4-4, with the Terriers winning the last three meetings at home by a combined score of 29-3.
BU and Stonehill first competed from 1988-1990 before renewing the series in 2024.
Last year, the Terriers swept the doubleheader with both contests finishing in six innings.

LOOKING AHEAD

BU will open Patriot League play at Lafayette with a three-game series set for March 21-22.
Last year, the Terriers swept the series at home with two 5-0 victories and a 9-1 (6) win.
Two years ago in Pennsylvania, BU won three games by a combined score of 28-1.
