March 2, 2026 | Softball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After totaling a 1.35 earned run average over four appearances at the Duke Invitational, Boston University softball senior Haley Ganino earned Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
With a win and save, Ganino claimed her first career weekly award and the Terriers' fourth overall this season after junior Kylie Doherty (Player), freshman Irys Kline (Rookie) and senior Kasey Ricard (Pitcher) were all previously recognized.
A native of Azusa, California, she started off pitching 4.1 scoreless innings of work to help the Terriers outlast the No. 20/23 Blue Devils, 9-8 (10), Wednesday evening. In the contest, she scattered four hits and a walk to claim her third career win. On Friday, she retired all four Wildcats she faced to earn her first career save, as part of a 6-4 victory over Northwestern.
In the last two contests, Ganino pitched a combined 4.2 innings with two strikeouts against one walk and seven total hits. She allowed just one run against both Northwestern and Ohio State, helping BU compete to the last pitch in a 6-3 loss to the Wildcats and bounce back with a 10-5 victory over the Buckeyes.
BU will next visit Yale for two games each against the host Bulldogs and visiting New Haven on March 7-8.
