Ricard Tabbed Patriot League Pitcher of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After collecting three wins without a single earned run allowed, Boston University softball senior Kasey Ricard claimed Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The award marks her second of the season and 15th overall, one shy of tying the PL record held by Lehigh's Lisa Sweeney ('09). Coincidentally, with Saturday's 7-0 shutout win against Yale, Ricard surpassed Sweeney for the new PL record in career shutouts at 32 total.
Adding an 8-1 win over New Haven with 4.1 innings of relief and a second complete-game performance against the Bulldogs for an 8-1 victory, Ricard finished with 28 combined strikeouts in 18.1 innings of work against just four walks and eight singles allowed. She finished the weekend holding opponents to a .129 batting average.
Owner of 83 career victories, two shy of tying the school record, Ricard and the Terriers will next face Quinnipiac on Tuesday (March 10) in a doubleheader starting at 12:30 p.m.
