Mikaul Tabbed Patriot League Player of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore Gabriella Mikaul of the Boston University women's tennis team was named the Patriot League player of the week, the league announced Tuesday. This is her third weekly award of the season.
Mikaul went a combined 3-0 in the final weekend of the regular season when BU played Lehigh and Army West Point. Against the Mountain Hawks, Mikaul teamed with junior Nancy Liu to win their doubles match, 6-0, at the top of the lineup. Mikaul was in the beginning of the third set of her singles match when play was suspended with a 4-0 BU win.
Against the Black Knights, Mikaul secured a win in doubles and in singles. Her and N. Liu topped their doubles foes 6-2 at line one to force the doubles point to the only remaining court, which BU won. In singles, the sophomore defeated her opponent at the No. 1 spot 6-1, 7-5, to win BU's third point of the match on route to the 4-2 win.
Mikaul and the top-seeded Terriers will play their next match on Friday (April 17) in the Patriot League Quarterfinal at 9 a.m. BU will face the winner of the first round match between No. 8 Lafayette and No. 9 Holy Cross.
