The World Junior Summer Showcase, which will include teams from Canada, Finland and Sweden, is set for July 26-Aug. 1 at WFCU Centre in Windsor, Ontario. It serves as an evaluation for athletes seeking to make their respective national teams for the 2027 IIHF World Junior Championship, which will be held Dec. 26, 2026, through Jan. 5, 2027, in Edmonton and Red Deer, Alberta.
In addition to Amico, Murtagh and Trethewey, future Terriers Jamie Glance, Brady Knowling and Luke Schairer were also named to the U.S. roster. Knowling is one of three members of last year's U.S. National Junior Team expected to attend this summer's showcase.
Amico split time last season with BU and the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL. With Muskegon, Amico totaled 11 points in 27 regular-season games before notching three goals and four assists during the Lumberjacks' run to the Clark Cup Final. In one semester with the Terriers, Amico featured in 18 games. Murtagh played in 35 of 36 games last season, scoring six goals and adding five assists for 11 points. Trethewey notched 10 points (1g, 9a) in 34 games on the BU blue line.
