Robert L. Capuano
Sport: Football
Year Graduated: 1953
Year Inducted: 1973

In 1964, Bob Capuano was voted - along with George Sulima, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year - as one of the two top ends in Boston University's post-war football history.

An All-State end at Rhode Island's Cranston High School, he became a favorite target for the passes of the immortal Harry Agganis. In 1951 he caught three touchdown passes against the College of William and Mary.
Elected team captain for the 1952 season, he was forced to leave school before the start of the season because of illness, and was not able to return.

While at BU, he also starred in basketball, and in 1951 was selected as Rhode Island's Outstanding Italo-American Athlete of the Year. He suffered an untimely death from a heart attack in 1964.
