Kate Cusick Named America East Player of the Week

Senior Scores Twice in Win over Vermont
BOSTON (Oct. 3, 2000) -- Boston University senior forward Kate Cusick (Allentown, PA) was named America East Field Hockey Player of the Week after scoring a pair of goals in the Terriers 5-1 win over Vermont on September 27.
Cusick, who is with Anne Maxwell '96 for 11th place on the Terriers all-time scoring list with 60 points, has scored four goals in her last four games.
Cusick is also ranked 11th in the America East Conference, averaging 1.10 points per game. In 10 games for the 14th-ranked Terriers this season, she leads the team with 5-1--11. Sally Starr's squad is currently atop the America East Conference with a perfect 4-0 record in conference play. The Terriers are 7-3 overall, ranked No. 14 in the latest STX/NFHCA poll.
A former standout field hockey player at Salisury H.S., Cusick earned First Team All State honors after establishing the school's season goal record of 25 as a senior. She is Salisbury's all-time leader in career goals, 65, and points, 92.
Cusick and her teammates next travel to UMass-Amherst on October 4 to play the No.7-ranked Minutewomen at 7 p.m.
