Terhune Earns America East Player of the Week Honor

BOSTON - Sophomore guard Katie Terhune (Port Murray, NJ) was named the Spalding Player of the Week by the America East while guiding the Terriers to three straight victories this week and their best record in seven seasons.
Terhune averaged 20.6 points and 4.6 rebounds as the Terriers extended their longest winning streak in seven years to four games and was named the Most Valuable Player at the Christmas City Classic in Bethlehem, PA.
In the Terriers' 93-77 win over cross-town rival Harvard, Terhune scored 20 points and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the free-throw line. Last season, Terhune had the 12th best free throw percentage in the nation, hitting 88.9 percent of her free throws.
In the first round of the Christmas City Classic, Terhune scored a team-high 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field in the Terriers' 75-51 win over Delaware State.
In the championship win over Lehigh, the 5-foot-11 guard scored 22 of her game-high 24 points in the second half to guide the Terriers (4-1) to their first championship since 1989.
On the season, Terhune leading the league with 19.8 points per game and is averaging 6.0 rebounds and 2.2 steals a contest.
